December 20, 2021, Colorado Springs, CO – Special Kids Special Families program participant and October Client of the Month, Brian D. dressed as Santa this past weekend and passed out holiday gifts to his peers and others that attend the SKSF Adult Day Program.  Brian along with SKSF staff visited client homes to hand deliver the gifts.  All were so surprised by the unexpected Santa visit. “I am not only amazed by the generosity of our community but am proud of Brian for volunteering to be Santa, in addition, my staff went above and beyond this weekend.  We have an amazing team!” says Dionna Lanich, SKSF Adult Services Director.

Hundreds of gifts were donated by several individuals and community partners like Hope Montessori in Monument, Little Sprouts Learning Center, Pentrust Mortgage, CIA Leavitt Insurance & the Shandy Clinic. Special Kids Special Families was able to extend their generosity to clients that attend Zach’s Place center and Adult Day Program, in addition share gifts with foster families, host home clients and those being treated with behavioral health services.

SKSF received an unexpected donation from Kenzi’s Causes (a Denver-based nonprofit serving underprivileged children and their families in Colorado) which donated over $16,000 worth of toys, diapers, wipes, stuffed animals, & Christmas stockings stuffed with goodies.  Partnering with Safelite Autoglass to collect and distribute donations, this year they had a little extra and SKSF was the lucky recipient!  Gifts will be distributed to children in the SKSF Foster Care and Behavioral Health programs.
