Special Kids Special Families celebrates 20 years serving the Pikes Peak region
September 3, 2019 – Special Kids Special Families (SKSF), a Colorado Springs 501c3 non-profit organization, is celebrating 20 years of providing respite and specialized care for children and adults with disabilities and special needs, their families and caregivers in the Pikes Peak community! SKSF is hosting an Open House at their new Administration facility at 1915 Aerotech Drive, Suite 100, and welcomes the public to attend and share the celebration of Special Kids Special Families organizational growth over the years. Zach’s Place, SKSF’s founding program which opened 20 years ago, is only ONE of two licensed day care facilities in the state of Colorado that offers specialized respite and childcare to families raising youth with disabilities and special needs. SKSF has expanded over the years and offers community support services to families which are designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities throughout their lifespan. SKSF services include adult day programs, residential host home programs for adults, foster care and adoption services, respite services, community networking, transportation, in home care, puppetry disability awareness program, sibling programs and socialization events. In addition, Special Kids Special Families has recently announced that they will be launching their new Behavioral Health program this year.
