A single youth making a HUGE impact for Zach’s Place
January 15, 2019: It’s so inspiring to see the next generation make a difference in their community! One such youth, Sanavi Pillai, certainly stands out from the crowd! She became aware of Special Kids Special Families through her mother’s involvement as a volunteer. After hearing about SKSF’s special needs programs, she was inspired and decided to seek donations and raise money for Zach’s Place respite and childcare center. This SKSF program cares for children ages 2.5-21 with disabilities and special needs in the Colorado Springs area. What she was able to accomplish was astonishing! She raised over ,600 for the program for families, who are considered low income, to receive respite care for their child. She also was able to collect new books for the program’s library. “The works and efforts of this young lady is a terrific reminder of the impact that young people can have in their very own communities,” said SKSF Executive Director, Linda Ellegard. “Sanavi is destined to have a positive and influential impact on the environment of where she will someday choose to plant herself.”
