3/12/16: Bowlathon 2016 – It’s a Wrap!
What a wonderful and FUN fundraising event! Our 7th Annual Bowl-A-Thon 2016 held at King Pin Lanes on Saturday, March 12th was a great success! Everyone who attended had a great time bowling, laughing, showing their green and raising funds for SKSF Zach’s Place Program. Drawing prizes were awarded throughout the event and prizes were given in several categories including “Most Gutter Balls.”
Thanks to our STRIKE $1,000 sponsor NuStar Energy, in addition to our other sponsors: Greiner Electric, Vinton Law Firm, Berwick Electric, Blazer Electric, CIA Leavitt Insurance, Simple CPR, Warren Management Group, Academy Bank, Biggs Kofford, and Williams Body & Paint who were recognized on Facebook, in the program, over the PA, with banners at the event and in on our E-News. Bowlers raised funds through pledges and participants made donations. In total, over $5,000 was raised to support Zach’s Place and ensure that SKSF can continue to provide respite and child care services to our region for families of children with disabilities.

9/19/15: PARKING LOT SALE EXTRAVAGANZA
Thanks so much to volunteers Craig and Kim Sommer for organizing the Parking Lot Sale Extravaganza held on Saturday, 9/19/15. They were instrumental in putting it all together along with many other wonderful hard working volunteers and SKSF staff. We raised over $1200 for the Zach’s Place Capital Campaign – not bad for cleaning out our closets!
All proceeds from the sale of this event helped fund Zach’s Place Capital Campaign to help purchase the program’s building at 4795 Granby Circle. Zach’s Place is a respite care and child care facility for children with special needs. Families with special needs children depend on the loving care their children receive at Zach’s Place, which has served the Colorado Springs community for over 15 years.

11/1-12/31/15: INDY GIVE!

During the 2015 Indy Give!, which runs from 11/1-12/31 of every year, the campaign raised over ONE MILLION dollars with over 6,000 donors giving to 88 organizations.
Special Kids Special Families is proud to be participating in this campaign in 2015. With 78 donors giving to SKSF, we ranked 17 out of the 88 non-profits raising $17,943 to support our programs. In addition to these individuals donations, we raised $5,400 in matching grants from: Dan & Diana Nagel, Dusty and Kathy Loo Fund, El Pomar Foundation, SKSF Board of Directors, Davey Coach Sales, and friends of SKSF.
We’d like to thank all of our donors and matching grantors, along with the Indy Give! campaign and community supporters. We are excited to put these funds to good use at our Zach’s Place program for children with disabilities and their families to help raise awareness and support families with respite and childcare.
